Best. Mix. Ever.

Dude, I just recieved it in the mail today and I popped it into my CD player and was mesmerized...I literally could not press the stop button! A little background here: My wife Patty is still in the hospital recovering from surgery (Monday) for Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. They took out one of her ribs and the recovery for her has been slow and very painful. Tonight when I went to see her at the hospital she was closer to her normal self, for which I was thankful. She should be discharged in the next couple of days. I have been running myself ragged taking care of my 3 kids at home, working, shopping, soccer practice, etc. and basically being exhausted all the time (I was barely coherent at work today, and as a supervisor, that is a bad thing) Several times today I could feel my eyes well up with tears. Then I come home and find an envelope with Buffalochipz' cd...

Your timing was perfect, and I thank you for that...amazingly enough, I feel rejuvenated and ready to handle the many challenges ahead, so thank you.

Karma! It's a beautiful thing...

KYYX!!!! I got your "New Wave for Now People." I really love it - it's right up my alley. I love how you mixed some currentish dance stuff along with the older songs.

The version of Hilary's Kinetic sounds different than the version I have. I can't put my finger on how though. Maybe yours is a bit faster - is it a remixed version? I like it!

I have seen Cee Farrow's name pop up on the boards before but never heard anything by him. I was really impressed by "Should I Love You Forever?" I spent sometime searching around the internet this morning looking for info on him- couldn't find a thing other than links to videos.

I never was exposed to much by Oingo Boingo - I always thought I wouldn't like them - but "Nothing Bad Ever Happens to Me" is a great song.
I also absolutely LOVE the Chemical Brothers Out of Control - (really, really, really love it!) I do recognize the guest vocal[:)]

All in all, a great mix top to bottom & every which way, in between. Great job, you've inspired me to go ahead with the trance/wave comp.

Thanks guys. You are all great people here (and especially Manekineko for all of your support too) and I appreciate your kind words. Hopefully in a couple of weeks my life will have some semblance of normalcy. I'll tell you what though, Buffalochipz' Manekineko's and Wolverine's mixes are making it a heck of alot easier to bear! [:)]

Medication--Sounds like your wife is on her way to a full recovery...glad to hear it! I'm happy the CD made your day a little better. Not to get all mushy but the Joan Armatrading song that kicks it off has always been my little audio love letter to my wife (also named Patti!) since I'm so lucky to have her. Thomas Dolby's warm synths on the track also makes it one of my favorites.

Wolvie my friend-do me a favor and drop me an email so I can get your email address--would love to trade with ya but Im having huge ongoing issues with my email on my pc-such as not being able to get an address from Mikes link--Hopefully by Xmas it will all be resolved.

Manekineko--your latest mixes were fantastic-great put togethers-keep up the great work and I look forward to more exchanges in the future!!!!!

Wow, Wolverine--just received your CD and it looks fabulous! I can't believe you included that Divine song "Native Love"...I Loooooove that song, but I haven't heard it in years. I recognized the song name right away and played it (forwarded thru the other songs) just to hear it. This looks like a terrific mix of old and new. I think the disco will fit in right w/ the New wave 80s. I totally approve of the "concept". Great CD cover pic and name, too!

I feel like we should honor this momentous occasion...I did destroy 7 cds this morning wrestling with F'ing Music Match....perhaps that appeases the halloween Gods.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed them! I should probably post some reviews on the discs that I've gotten, but there's just so much great stuff that you folks have turned me on to over the last few months that it's overwhelming!

wow thanks Marv, I am glad u enjoyed it!! I love your mixes as well, and play them all the time. I've got 2 mixes that I just need to stuff in envelopes and send out, they are already burned and ready to roll. So you should be getting them shortly :-)

Another fine compilation! Wolfe Man Mix #5:

A really likable disc with every track being a winner. Stand outs are:

Talk, Coldplay
Circles, Bob Mould
Chromeless, The Capes
Blokes on 45, Orange Juice
and especially, The Cells Divide (And I Might Ruin My Life), Fine China.

Never heard of Fine China. I actually played that song like five times in a row. I want more of them.

Fantastic efforts from Medication, WolvSyr, Marv and Randy. All loaded on my lemmingPod and in constant rotation.

I'm in transition right now, between solid and vapor [:o)], so I can't send anything out, but I greatly appreciate the CDs I've been getting.
