SNAKEPIT REBEL???

SNAKEPIT REBEL???

Postby MarkusExMachina » Fri Oct 28, 2005 9:05 am

I know that my question is maybe better posted in a R'n'R-forum but you can take the fact that I bring it up here as a hint to the sheer desperation thats driving me, so:
Some 15 or 20 yrs ago, my record dealer gave me a promo-CD with scandinavian bands, most of them from Sweden, like The Dolkows e.g. The CD was called "Call of the Wild" and there was one song on it, called "Flowers for Sale" by a band named "Snakepit Rebel" (from Sweden), which IMHO is one of the greatest Rock'n'Roll songs ever.
Since then, I have been looking out for Snakepit Rebel, but Google f.i. could only provide the info that "Flowers for Sale" must have been pretty big in Brazil.
Anyone out there who knows a little more?

from what i could gather....the only song i could find was by a band called "sator"

called "snakepit rebel"

You say I'm going down, but it sure looks like up to me
You say I'm getting sloppy. But I tell you wait and see
You say I'm running out of limits and I'm slowing down too fast
But I get enough adrenalin to make you look like you're dead
Every morning when I rise, you tell me what to do
You sold my favourite records and you burned my favourite clothes
My guitar is in the pawnshop , because it didn't get me far
It didn't get me money and it didn't make me a star

I'm a snakepit rebel,
don't you love me like that?
Don't you feel happy
when I'm coming you're way?

Today I woke up screaming and it was because of you
But I can tell you baby, I've got better things to do
You hate the way I'm living. You say it all the time
But maybe my appearance is a blessing in disguise

I'm a snakepit rebel,
don't you love me like that?
Don't you feel happy
when I'm coming you're way?
I'm a snakepit rebel,
don't you love me like that?
Don't you feel happy
when I'm coming you're way?

OOH baby come on don't you love me baby
I'm a snakepit rebel,
don't you love me like that?
Don't you feel happy
when I'm coming you're way?
I'm a snakepit rebel,
don't you love me like that?
Don't you feel happy
when I'm coming you're way...?

i'm in the process of finding the actual tune

I'm kind of collecting swedish rock albums, so I own 2 albums with
Snakepit Rebel, S/T (1991)and Dustsucker (1992) :) The song you're
talking about was released on the first one. I Don't know much about the
band but they started out as Dream Police but had to do a namechange.
