Inspired by the better alt 90s bands thread. What's your favorite 90s songs in sort of an 80s vein, and not just latter day songs from new wave artists. You know, stuff you know NWO members would like or should take a listen to?

One rule: only one song per band...no stream of consciousness regurge of all favorites. Variety!

Man, I hate to say it but after looking at that list, with a few exceptions, it reminds me why I seem to think the '90s were a complete void - musically speaking...

That's harsh Jason, I'm afraid I agree.
When I see Blind Melon all I can do is roll my eyes.
I do like:
Cranberries
Smashing Pumpkins
The Sundays
And I love Garbage.
They're possibly the best band to come out of the 90's.
Some of the others are not offensive, just bland.

Hey, I'm never afraid to let it all hang out there, so bring it on. And no doubt the 90s weren't the 80s...that's why we're not sitting on "90s Music Void Outpost". But I'm trying to dig up some stuff here! I was trying to think of good light jangly pop that captured some 80s mood. I actually liked a lot more or the harsher sounds too. Comments aren't offensive but bland is what a lot of critics called the 80s remember??
