A-ha's new CD - "Analogue"

Postby zalasta » Tue Nov 08, 2005 1:48 pm

Well, listening to the new a-ha CD for the first time, and I have to say I quite enjoy it. So far, I think it's better than "Lifelines." It was just released in the UK, apparently it won't be out in the US until 2006 sometime.

Anybody else hear this yet?

I wish.

That's a crappy thing--having to wait while my favorite bands' releases come out in Europe first. Don't they know their most important fans are here in the U.S.? [:D]

But very New Wave..exactly what happened in the late 70s and the 1980s.

but these days its so much easier to get imports... fairly cheap on amazon.com/uk.

I remember seeing an import copy of Eurythmics' "In the Garden" in a record store, and I about flipped out with excitement. Of course, i was in a fairly small town.

Me, too - although mine is coming from Amazon.de as I also ordered the two singles for "Celice" and the 6-disc box set of Yello reissues. I heard some of the new a-ha songs at the NYC concert in September and they were all great! I can't wait for this CD to arrive.

Why should have to Pay $36.99 for Ah-a new album at amazon plus its loaded with that so called enhance DDM crap. This such a rip off. I would buy it at itunes for $9.99 if it was available there. But at these prices. I rather download it for free on bt.

First, you can get it at Amazon for 10 pounds, or $17.40.

Second, a-ha is one band that I will always support with my dollars. There aren't many, but they're definitely one.

Good call Zalasta,
Not a bad sounding set of trax albeit a bit on the melancholy and wistful side..
An Autumnal - Winter mood definitely permeates this 70's lyrically styled often acoustic flavored retrospective.
(a far cry from their synth laden 80's material- hence a good reason for the album title)
However, they do manage to pull out the stops and rock it a bit on 'Make It Soon'
Being an OTH waver who cut my musical teeth in the 70's, much of it reminds me of vintage Bread and a little bit like America.[:I]

I'm still waiting for my copy of the CD+DVD version of Analogue.

D'argh, it sucks when my favorite band is a punchline in America. -_-

Just got an import (from Germany!) copy at Tower and am listening to it right now. VERY impressed with it so far, but then a-ha's one of my favorite bands. Track 3 (Cozy Prisons) is phenomenal. I got extraordinarily lucky to be getting sent to London on business in two weeks - I got a ticket to their show at Wembley Pavilion on 12/6. Any UK a-ha fans out there going to the show as well?

I really hope this gets an U.S. release, this band has been so unfairly overlooked by America. But then nobody here will listen to it because they're too busy grooving on the latest Christina Aguilera or Pussycat Dolls disc...

I love the song Celise. Hope to get the album when the price falls.

A-ha is one of the only groups who are making even better music now then they did in the 80s!

1: Itunes is lossy DRM junk. I don't know why people would pay for this garbage or think that it is better than copy-protected CDs.

2: You can get the CD+DVD version for $20USD shipped:

I found lots of pirated cds of this album last month at one of the vcd's shop here. Quite far from town though and the collection includes Eurysmiths the best of, 80's mix, and even DEpeche Mode's new album. Very cheap but i always thought it's not worth buying since i often prefer the original.
