92.7 WDRE Modern Rock Dance Party

Very cool Marv.
Unfortunately, these mixes were late for me. I was a regular at Malibu 1982 to 1986 or so.
I did go to the closing night when they had "drink free to 11 PM". I don't remember what year that was though, but they played a great mix of old WLIR.

Hey gang, here's another tape. This time by Max. Can you help me identify the first four songs? I know the first one is Camouflage but don't know the song name and am too lazy to go through all my Camouflage to figure it out. The songs that begin at 11:17 and 24:02 I also need help with.

Our timers must not be jiving. I got the Xymox tune, it's the one AFTER it that escapes me. Good job on the others BTW.

so far i've only been able to get the last mix with max that you posted, the other two keep giving me errors, so i can't download.

I'm really enjoying this, even with the radio drops and shout outs. I remember I use to record mixes on KROQ (los angeles) back when I was starting out as a dj just so I could study how the blends were made. I remember one time hearing The Cure's "Why Can't I Be You" remix echo out into the bass line of Dramarama's "Anything Anything". It was so smooth I practiced and practiced that mix for about a month in the hopes of duplicating it. It had to be perfect timing in order to pull it off. Anyhow, thanks for putting these up MarvyMarv.

Ahh Yesss!
Red Flag, another DM clone band... They also have another great track 'Russian Radio' (well add these two and Cross The Border to my must have list!) Thanx DJS[;)]

Hey Marv, it's great hearing Max's mixes again. His style was definitely more to my liking.

Oh, and THANX for DJ MM #5! [8D]

Hey Marie, Santi: Try this link. Both mixes 1 & 2 should be in that file totalling to a (nearly) ninety minute file.

Oh, and 2nu: you're welcome! I hope everyone else is checking their mailboxes too [;)] Santi, you get the videos I sent you?

This sounds amazing! I tried the links and, of course, they're too old and expired long ago. [V]

Does anyone still have a copy of the mix(es) handy? I would really love to hear them. I miss the old days of WLIR/WDRE something fierce and this would help a lot. Thanks!

Also, did I read wrong or are there still two mystery songs on the mix? [:I]
