How bout the group "Love Tractor" they were pretty much all electro acoustic and did a nifty accoustic version of Kraftwerks "neon lights"

First thing to mind was Aztec Camera's version of "Jump".

Robyn Hitchcock's "Queen Elvis" off the 'Eye' lp is a pretty nice one too.

Duran Duran has a fabulous acoustic version of the "The Chauffer" called "Sing Blue Silver". It's simply a gorgeous acoustic version, with Simon singing. It's stunning.

Also, Suzanne Vega's debut album is totally awesome, full of stripped down guitar. And Tracy Chapman's first album. Those are not new wave, but they belong on this list, I feel.
