KROQ and 91X top albums (and artists)

Postby martinrhl » Fri Nov 25, 2005 3:28 pm

I have a website with the yearend top song countdowns from new wave/alternative radio stations KROQ, 91X and Q101 called www.radiohitlist.com (I've posted about it before). A while back I went through the lists and ranked bands by the # of entries they had in the lists (http://www.radiohitlist.com/Top_Artist_Countdowns.htm). I decided to go back and do the same thing with albums:

http://www.radiohitlist.com/Top-Album-Countdowns.htm

I always thought of Depeche Mode, the Cure and Oingo Boingo as the top 3 KROQ bands of the 80s, and yet of those the Cure didn't have a single album that made the top 65, DM had 1 (Violator) and OB 1 (Boi-ngo). While their albums didn't do so well, at least as far as artists go they did pretty well (Cure #3, DM #4, OB #11).

Linkin Park, Alanis Morrisette, and Tragic Kingdom in the KROQ top ten...that pretty much says it all.
