Gene Loves Jez - Desire(Original 12" Mix) Rare?

Postby DJ Lestat » Thu Nov 24, 2005 12:10 pm

Just thought I'd share this mix of Gene Loves Jezebel - Desire, this is the original 12" mix on the Relativity Records label not the more common "Dance Mix" on Geffen Records. I ripped this myself but I must admit it that the quality is not perfect, its good but not perfect. I think this is a much better mix of this song than the Geffen release, it's got a really cool break in the middle and is more edgy with the guitars. Anyway I hope its something not alot of you have heard and would appreciate, not too sure how "rare" this is, I know it never made it to lazer.

I'm pretty sure I ripped it of of a Relativity Records label are you saying that Situation Two was the parent label or what? I'm a little confused by your post, can you shed some light on it?

Your version is the one from Relativity US (I have the same 12"). SItuation Two is UK. It was also released in Canada on Beggars Banquet/PolyGram but with different tracks.

Produced by Michael Aston and Engineered by Alvin Clarke at the Sound Suite, London NW1 on 19/20 August 85. --- according to the CD booklet. It's just labeled as "Desire (Extended Version)".

:-o I could never get rid of my vinyls or CDs even if I don't like a particular release that much. Don't know why. Some people take lots of photos but I just horde music :).
