Hey everybody! I don't know what the protocol is here with regards to new members just popping in, starting new topics and plugging away (sorry). I found this board while searching for a website for Aldo's in Lyndhurst N.J. There is'nt one apparantly, but a thread here was listed.
Just to let you know that I've been a jock on WFDU fm in Teaneck N.J, for about 10 years now. I have a show on Saturday nights from 11 to 1 called "That Modern Rock Show" where I play a mix of new releases and Modern Rock circa 1983-92. Although to be fair I occasionally drop back into the 70's and 60's too

Well I live in Illinois..how's that skip workin?Sounds great. try simulcasting on 365 live.comHows that magnetic fields eno version of taking tiger maountain ( by strategy)) heard it yet?

henseno you can listen to it streaming from wfmu.org. i listen to chris t's call in show every friday from 6 to 7.

Nope, have'nt heard that yet. Figures they'd do it though. I always felt that The Magnetic Fields, when Stephen Merritt is singing anyway, sound like what would happen if Eeyore from Winnie The Pooh formed a band...and I mean that in the best possible sense!

Does Live365 continually repeat a block of programming over and over again so you can listen to something whenever you want? I'll have to look into that. For now, you can just go on over to the WFDU website if you're around on Saturday nights.

No, that's WFMU. We're WFDU. It's a common mistake and that explains why we're pretty anonymous right now despite trying to fill the void left by WLIR (at least on Saturdays).

hey ghosty! seeing your name and fdu makes me remember hearing your show a few times! i got my first listen brian eno on fdu about two years ago. that was back when the one bob was on with his industrial/goth alternative show 6 to 9 and then "your ol pal" jim reicken who played "backwater" on his show 9 to 12. i even used to listen to the guy whose name i forget who did the 12 am to 6 shift saturday nights. his show exposed me to the killing jokes "hum" and fall of because" to of their best songs, as well as fischer spooners cover of wire's "the 4th" or is it the "15th"? The video for "sanity" by kj was so dark i would always turn when it came on vh1 classic but after discovering it was them who did those songs ibecame a fan. "sanity" is also one of my faves from them. anyway i caught your show months ago and would recommend people check it out. it's more convienent for me to look up bands and download the albums then listen to radio but the stations "new music weekend" goes far beyond what lir was doing before they went under and is better than krock's predictable playlist and the lameness wsou has become.

Thanks for checking us out in the past. It's still pretty much the same lineup on Saturday nights except I'm squeezed in between Jim and Big Al (now the 1am to 6am guy). Bob is still doing his Goth show on Sunday nights after the Doo-Wop show (which is why I got bumped). In any case, it's been an exciting few weeks here as we've been mixing the new stuff with our vast collection of 70's, 80's and 90's from the library. The response has been great.

Ghosty my friend-good work I can hardly wait to start posting my classic college rock playlists when that show starts-come october I'm going to be doing a show on our brand-spanking new micropower college radio station-the show is going to be called "Left Off The Dial." yes, that's right-"OFF" the dial-b ut I'll be including more current stuff from "classic" college rock outfits like the cure and mission of burma along the college oldies.
