Shona Laing - Soviet Snow(Popstand Remix PHAZED!)

Postby DJ Lestat » Thu Dec 01, 2005 12:28 pm

OK so I'm a little excited about this one :) It's one of my favorite songs/remixes from when I used to spin at a club. Its also my wife favorite song. I'm not sure if everyone here is familiar with phazing so I'll give a brief description. Phazing is playing the same record on two turntables milliseconds apart in time, this confuses the mixing board and creates a sort of tunnel type of effect. The sound "crest" as the two records are in exact time, you slightly slow down one record so it crosses the crest to make the tunnel effect and then cross it back over and over again. Its just a fun little DJ thing I used to do, it was actually pretty common to do this to songs back when I was spinning. So without further ado here is Shona Laing - Soviet Snow(Pop Stand Remix-Phazed)

I luuv that FX DJL. It's such a rush when you get two trax synched up but slightly out of phase and the sound takes on that trippy chambered effect. Guess the first time I heard that kind of effect was in the song break of DB's track 'Listen to the Music' Cool Stuff. [8D]

P.S. You also can hear it in the song break / lyrical refrain of The Eagles 'Life In The Fast Lane' [;)]

I don't have the original LP version, only the 12" version with remixes.
Here is the "Meltdown Dub" and the Razormaid!
