The Pogues & Kirsty MacColl's "A Fairytale of New York" gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it. That song is just sooo amazingly great to my ears. I love it, I love it, I love it.

Favorites from various genres:
1. One Christmas Catalogue - Captain Sensible (now that song's stuck in my head, 2nu! All I keep hearing is "Christmas ... to Christmas")
2. Peace On Earth / Little Drummer Boy - David Bowie and Bing Crosby
3. Christmas Wrapping - Waitresses
4. Fairytale of New York - Pogues and Kirsty MacColl (made even more poignant by her death)
5. It Feels Like Christmas - The Lettermen (Yes, the Lettermen. I heard this song exactly once on the radio and it blew me away ... but they never said who it was. It took me over 10 years to find out who it was and download a copy of it. It sounds almost like a Beach Boys ballad)

7. It Doesn't Often Snow At Christmas - Pet Shop Boys
8. Silver Bells / What Christmas Means To Me - Steve Martin, Paul Simon and Billy Joel. If you've never heard this, you have to. It's hilarious. The version I've heard was taken from an SNL rehearsal for a sketch I don't think was ever actually performed on the show. It started with Billy Joel playing piano and he and Paul Simon singing the first verse & chorus of "Silver Bells". After that, they keep humming to the piano while Steve Martin launches into a gentle speech about what Christmas means to him. It is fall-down funny!!!

Does anyone have a copy of"Christmas had better be better this year"(I think that's the title)? I have no idea who sang it, I last heard it fifteen years ago, and some of the song went like this:"Christmas had better be better this year, not like it was the last, no mother in law bending my ear, no uncle Leo passing gas... I can't take it, I can't take it." and another verse was "nobody better s--t on my Christmas this year". It wasn't new wave, it was done acoustically.
