“Inter-Band” Relationships: Can’t Just Be Friends…

It has occurred to me that several bands with boys and girls usually have romantic relationships transpire. Not that this is a bad thing because personally I think it is pretty cool. There is one factor though: When the love breaks down so does the music...

(Human League) Phil Oakey & Joanne Catherall
(Human League) Phil Oakey & Susanne Sulley
(Blondie) Deborah Harry & Chris Stein
(Culture Club) Boy George & Jon Moss (Jon claims that he is not gay or bi {at least not now};He is curently married.
(Eurhythmics) Annie Lennox & David A.Stewart
(Fleetwood Mac) Stevie Nicks & all the guys in the band....

There are many more bands where the members can't seem to keep there hands off of each other...it's like an epidemic.

wasn't siouxsie pretty much with every one of her bandmates at one time or another? it seems to me that she and severin were an item when the banshees started out.

Debbie and chris didn't break up right after Blondie disbanded. The band stopped partially cuz of Chris' disease and debbie spent years nursing him back, that is true love! She's pretty, talented, rich, famous and loyal, what more can you ask for in a girl? Long story short, I don't think their love demised the music or got in the way of the music in anyway. I think many are surprised at how monogamous and non-slutty Debbie was her whole Blondie experience.

I thought Stevie Nicks only slept with Lindsay Buckingham, I didn't know she banged the whole band, is that true? If yes, Stevie, you're a slut!

Stevie was with Lindsey and Mick, but not with John McVie.

I don't think FM's music broke down because of the "love" or lack thereof. It broke down in the late 1980s when Lindsey Buckingham left the band (his relationship with Stevie had ended some 10 years earlier)--and went even further into the shitter when Christine McVie and Stevie left in the early 1990s.

I'm biased because I'm a big 'ol FM fan, but when the Mick-Stevie-Lindsey-Christine-John line-up got back together in 1997 for "The Dance"--that was awesome. And 2003's "Say You Will" (though Christine wasn't involved with it) is really, really good, too.
