Cold-wave is what I consider the perfect music to listen if you were literally driving somewhere to kill somebody [8D] Early Gary Numan fits in this vein . . very detached yet melodic stuff. I love that big, enveloping synth sound . . too bad it's become so associated as "80s" so you never hear it today.

Also, early John Foxx. "Burning Car" is just killer.

Heh, you didn't see the Goldfrapp concert! The synths were so pulsingly heavy, I thought I was watching it in "Sensurround"! [8D] It was not only enveloping but penetrating, permeating, and pounding! I don't wanna beat the Goldfrapp horse to death like I do the BSP one, but I'll still say you GOTTA check them out if you think this sound isn't around! Just download the track "Koko" off the new Supernature album to get a taste of it.
