"Church of the Poison Mind" is the only Culture Club song I can stand. It's Helen Terry's fault. I think she showed up on some of their other hits, but she really made me take notice on that song.

So we can talk of non-new wave as well . . . huh? I agree on "Blue Collar Man" but for sheer novelty value, I also have to include "Plexiglass Toilet" which is their "new wave" song if you include the novelty/experimental nature of the genre.

Now I can admit the one Phil Collins song. But please, I NEVER want to hear "Against All Odds" or "Another Day in Paradise" EVER again!

My one Wham! song is "Young Guns." Early Wham was a bit interesting, and that's one that's actually been featured on New Wave collections. And I will respect your opinion, but I'll be fine if I NEVER hear (or especially see the video) of "A Different Corner" ever again.

"Machinery"--Sheena Easton's so-called new wave song (and chances are, one can argue "Telefone" was really the new wave song). I can't believe I just admitted that. Definitely not her bastardization of Tim Scott's "Swear" or her Prince song "Sugar Walls" (except for the Homer Simpson reference in that Halloween/Fairy Tales episode)
"Never Ending Story"--Limahl or Kajagoogoo. I still don't understand why I will select this track and listen to it.
"Lover Boy"--Billy Ocean. Though not that much. It's the only one I will not change the station for.
"All You Zombies"--Hooters. And I saw them in concert, but their other stuff I felt was just so-so 80's stuff, not really memorable.
"Sultans of Swing"--Dire Straits. I always felt "Money For Nothing" was way over-hyped.
"I Can't Hold Back"--Survivor. Everything else, no, and they made a big mistake in the long run even connecting themselves with the Rocky movies.
"Following"--The Bangles. Used to love them, but these days, I avoid their tunes. Perhaps too much exposure repelled me from them. I will also include their instrumental "Bitchen' Summer" as a true gem, however.
"Fire Woman"--The Cult. I still don't know fully why they don't appeal to me, especially during the true alternative/not so poppy sounds of the late 80's, but this song is an exception to one I will not move away from Fred on my XM radio for the moment.
"I Just Died in Your Arms"--Cutting Crew. Total guilty pleasure! I feel ashamed!
"Lay All Your Love On Me"--Information Society. This cover is an improvement over Abba's as far as I'm concerned (and is still my favorite ABBA cover) Otherwise, I always felt they were a lame imitation of the Human League . . . and likewise . . .
"Love Is A Shield"--Camouflage--otherwise they pale to Depeche Mode, although yet at the same time--my favorite Depeche Mode love song is "Love Is A Shield."
"Open Your Eyes"--Lords of the New Church. Although their cover of "Like A Virgin" is the type of bastardization Madonna's song deserves.
"The Safety Dance"--Men Without Hats (The rest is not memorable, at all, including their "Comeback"--"Pop Goes the World")
I can probably go on and on--"The One Hit Wonders as far as you were concerned" would be the appropriate title for this--by the way.

Aaagh! Too much information! just kidding...but did you know that a couple of guys from The Hooters [xx(] are responsible for co-writing and producing that All-Anus Morrisette album "Jagger Little Pill" er whatever fook it's called? Gah....firing squad!

For the love of all that is godly about New Wave, PLEASE, PLEASE listen to 'Atmosphere'. Not only will not only change your mind about that line, but make your jaw drop at it's beauty and the shimmering layers of synths that fill this track. Words cannot express how brilliant this song is.
Other than that, yeah, JD are extremely hard to get into and aren't really my cup o' tea..

For the love of all that is godly about New Wave, PLEASE, PLEASE listen to 'Atmosphere'. Not only will not only change your mind about that line, but make your jaw drop at it's beauty and the shimmering layers of synths that fill this track. Words cannot express how brilliant this song is.
Other than that, yeah, JD are extremely hard to get into and aren't really my cup o' tea..

Madonna always strikes me as the random-attack artist...I'm not much into her, but every once in a while, a song of hers comes down the turnpike and I love it. However, now this list is getting pretty big w/ her latest, the ABBA-sampled "Hung Up. " Damn! I can't help it.
