How Many?!?

Postby human clone » Wed Sep 01, 2004 7:21 am

I am not sure if this topic has already been discussed on this board. My question is how many cds do you own?

My music cd collection/obsession is rapidly approaching 2000. I shake my head sometimes at all of the money I have spent on music. Please let me know that I am not alone and others share this compulsive behavoir.

I had at one time 9 crates of vinyl. I foolishly sold it about 5 years ago and have regretted the day...

I have around 2600 CDs and a modest 500-600 in vinyl. But my friend Jim takes the cake with 8000+ CDs in his collection!!! He's a virtual record store, and yet he's married w/ 3 kids and still somehow manages to pursue his voracious hobby. It's almost sca

Well it's nice to know I'm not alone... [;)]

1500 CDs (all genres)
1000 Vinyl (just an estimate... 13 crates worth)

I have a DJ database that catalogues my CDs, which is especially handy for finding individual songs on compilations and such. A qu

CD's - around 500-600

Vinyl - nearing the 5,000 mark. (I'd ballpark it at ~70% new wave/punk). Shelving space is constantly an issue and moving is a nightmare. But there's no way I'll part with any of it.

Today, my CD collection is at about 550 (and growing), my 7" vinyl is at about 175, and the 12" stuff (LP's and Singles) at about 115. I had gotten rid of a lot a vinyl (about 10 crates worth) on my last major move, and even though I never want to move t

3000+ but haven't really counted.
prolly 50% new wave (depending upon definition).
Includes about 30 Depeche Mode, 50 Pet Shop Boys, 30 New Order, 30 Ryuichi Sakamoto, 30 YMO.
These counts aren't gospel![:D]

around 5,000 or more cds and 3,000 or so records as well as 400 cassettes too. All genres, but a lot of punk/wave stuff mostly. Been collecting since 1981 and been a dj on and off since 1988. Club and radio.

I have almost 4,000 CDs although a small chunk of those (maybe 300) are CD singles. I used to have more but I am constantly weeding out my collection; of course, I am constantly adding new titles as well! I should note that a good chunk of these CDs were

I probably have about 1,000 each of CDs, LPs/12"s, and 7"s. I used to have over 2,000 CDs (the remnants of college radio, record store, and record label jobs), but I've sold a lot of those off over the years. You be amazed at the number of times I kept a

I have about 400 CD's, about 40% of which are classical. The rest are mostly new wave/alternative with a bit of AOR rock (Boston, Van Halen, Rush) thrown in. I also have about 10 of my old vinyl LP's (but no turntable) and about 30 self-burned compilati
