Interesting about "Superstring". Didn't know it actually meant something [:)].

[/quote]Ahh yes, often there is something substantive behind those seemingly meaningless and cryptic monikers.[;)]

"Codo" - DOF
"Einstein a Go-Go" - Landscape
"Daytime Logic" & "M.A.N. Series Two" - Peter Baumann
"ESP" - Buzzcocks
"Romance of the Telescope" - OMD
"Dome of the Spheres" - Bone Symphony
"The Planet Doesn't Mind" - New Musik
"Attack of the Molemen" - Dickies

I could also think of hundreds of non-New Wave songs. But I only wanted to stick to the New Wave stuff.

WolverineSyr mentioned Shayla by blondie and I just wanted to elaborate on that song a bit cuz I don't think most people know what that song is about and from my memories, one of members of the group, maybe Debbie, said that it's actually about a girl named Shayla who gets abducted by aliens and it's probably one of the first songs about alien abduction.

I had just replied to a topic about songs that are about or mention the theme of fashion and I put in my 2cents regarding another Blondie song, which just made me realize why I really like this group...their entire back catalog covers so many different and interesting themes reflecting on their love for pop culture.

Pretty much the entire "Replicas" album by Gary Numan
and to a lesser extent everything else he did.

I'm missing one of my early 80's heroes: JOHNNY WARMAN (www.johnnywarman.com)

Both of his albums have a sci-fi attitude (similar to GARY NUMAN). A definitive must in sci-fi lyrics is "Martian Summer" from "Walking Into Mirrors".
