I love their self-titled album (1989). The best one, IMO, so far.

"Cerulean" (1991) and "Beneath the Rhythm and Sound" (1993) are pretty darn good too!... but I'm not so fond of "Waterworks"(2004) although it might grow on me...

Any other albums as good as the ones I mentioned?

I have [i]Beneath The Rhythm And Sound[/i]. Got it because the Pirate radio played that infectiously-indie tune, "Sublime"[8D] I think I have another one of their albums boxed in somewhere. [i]Davy Jones's Closet[/i], or something like that. Pretty schweet indie guitar pop. Dug the Inspiral Carpets more, though. We need MOAR Inspiral Carpets!

I love this band. And they are still around. www.theoceanblue.com I bought Cerulean on cassette back in 1992 and thought it sounded really twee. I popped it in 5 years later and realized I really like it. I bought up the rest of their albums that year. Underrated band. Their album, See, had some good songs too like "Slide," "Ways & Means," "My Scream," and "10 10 Cloud Deck." But I think my fav song is "Listen, It's Gone" from Beneath the Rhythm and Sound. Coldplay should listen to that song and weep.

Time was on my side for so long, 'til it said "so long" to me.

Between Something and Nothing is one of my favorite songs. I really should check out more from them.

The debut is great.

I picked up 'beneath the rhythm and sound' as a 25 cent cassette tape in a chain-store about 5 years ago. I think it's a great album. You can play spot the influence with it (this one sounds like Echo, this one sounds like the Church, this one sounds like Smiths, etc etc) but there's really not a dud track on the whole thing.

'Iceskating at night' (which is a little Cocteau Twins-sounding) is as beautiful as its title, and really nice to hear this time of year.

I Have the first three albums. All are great, but their debut is outstanding. I saw them in concert a couple of times. Nice guys--went out of their way to talk to fans after the show, and while not exactly a "rockin" concert was very good.
