Excellent Schwenko. I had to get the Metric track first before reaching Dancing Barefoot.

And sorry we'll be missing you Wavey. For anyone else, it looks like the premeeting/drinking/eating place will be per Waukena's excellent suggestion between 5-6pm or whenever:

Charlie’s Clam Bar
19 Kenmare St,  New York 10012
Btwn Elizabeth St & Bowery

Just to clarify a little bit:

It is Little Charlie's Clam Bar, and Kenmare Street is an extension (west) of Delancy Street.

Just back from this once in a millenium convocation!
Everybody showed up, and I believe everybody had an excellent time. Good call Waukena on Little Charlie's Clam Bar. tasty food and about a sixty second walk to the Bowery Ballroom!

We lost Skinnytie at that point, but Patti Smith and the boys put on a high energy, tightly knit show. In a big surprise she performed the entire Easter album!!! You'll recall that she has recently been performing the Horses album for it's 30th anniversary, so she's started a few years early for Easter. And as a bonus Tom Verlaine was guesting on guitar (no Flea).

The Bowery Ballroom is a fairly small venue, so a good view of the stage and performers was possible (except when the 6'7" guy was standing right in front of me). And the sound was great!

Mike P informed us that the NWO was approaching it's 10th(!!!) anniversary!! This upcoming February I believe he mentioned.
I asked him who was the second person to post on the message board (assuming he was the first) and he told me that he believed it was Fritz B!

All in all, a great night. Very happy to meet the West Coast NWO contingent as well as the East Coast NWO contingent!

Mike P. mentioned to us at our luncheon that he wants to do something special to commemorate the occasion.[8D]

Yeah, that 2hr 15min set wore me out. Patti was indeed amazingly energetic, powerful and just purely elemental. It was also cool to celebrate her 59th birthday (!!!) with the cake and group singalong...a pretty special night. Thanks to MikeP and all for making the effort...great meeting everyone.

Most curious event for me though was afterwards. I met two extremely attractive, mid-20s women on the way back to the subway. Remarkably they were only wearing these hot little halter tops and cut-up jeans on this cold night. When asked WTF, they said they just got out of jail (!) and needed a ride back to their hotel by Grand Central. I offered to swipe my subway pass for them and they gave me their whole story. Apparently they got into an all-out catfight at a club on Wednesday and had spent the last two nights incarcerated. The biggest kicker of the story? They were visiting from San Diego!!! I'm so bummed I didn't get their numbers for Jimbo! What the hell is it with chicks from SD?!

Hmm, in retrospect, I wonder if I looked like a pimp!

well, as the another member of this soiree I can say it was a blast, and at 59 years old Patti can still bring it as well as anybody!

Her daughter's band opened, and they had an interesting sound. Sorta retro-power-pop-crunch-chord-west-coast, yes? (They need a bass player)

We didn't take pics, it woulda violated the NYC chapter NWO Homeland Security policies by posting us on the open web. (either that or we all thought the club would give us shit about the cameras and left them home...)

great hanging with the prez and his most excellent fiancee and friend from college. Patrick got to slam dance with a 6'5" guy to r&r nigger...fun!
Thanks to everybody for a terrific time...and abacab, I called Charlie's and they said they still have your monocle...[:D]

and I knew I shoulda takent the subway...i ended up at NY Noodletown with my other friends til almost 3...

You have about 8 hours to get to NYC then, to catch her first of 2 shows tonight.
[:D]
Or you can listen in on Sirius radio.

I forgot that we were able to grab one picture at the pre-concert feast. Like Wauk said, Mike's fiance is one fine lady. And for whatever reason, Mike looks older in his pics than in real life...you big babyface! Only thing that ruined it was that freak kid who kept staring through the window. We always invite him in but he never comes.
