90s Songs for 80s People?

One of my favorite 90s bands was Cop Shoot Cop from NYC. Definately not new wave, but very unique & cool stuff.

I don't think it's a matter of looking for 80s style songs in the 90s as just well structured songs with decent melodies. There isn't necessarily one 80s style anyway. The bad influences also arguably started in the second half of the 80s. Music became colder more clinical - Bros, house music etc

Of those mentioned I don't know many but I like

Sundays - Summertime
Dubstar - Stars
Richard Marx - Hazard

Not too bad....Pearl Jam - Jeremy
Gin Blossoms can be musical sometimes - such as "Until I Fall Away"

Of course there's good music in every decade, it's just that some countries may become alot worse in some decades. The number of quality songs may reduce, possibly along with the number of records released. So the late 70s disco phenonemon in America passed, the first half of the 80s British New Wave revival ended and the Italo disco explosion of the mid 80s burnt out. So there's still good music now and again but there isn't that kind of creative energy that spreads across a country.

Those shots are from the "Monday Morning 5:19" vid. The song itself is totally worth it, especially if you like Mono's "Life In Mono" because they sound strangely alike and came out around the same time. The whole album that the song comes from is sprinkled with magnificent, shoegazin BritPop: Downbeat, mellow; it feels like you're on downers, but feels so good that you just wanna sleep by the blue and white neon lights and let the night sink into dawn. Life is good even with the constant drama of the girl that got away[8D] Other good songs in that album: "Untouchable" and "Quarantine" (this one is tops. I try to place it in every cd mix I make for my friends).

I also think that Rialto is a FANTASTIC BAND. Both of there cd`s are always on my cd changer.[:D] The acoustic version of Monday Morning is pretty damn cool.
