I have a 'very old tape from 3RRR from Melbourne Australia.
They played great music between 82-84, when I was there. Gun Club, Clock DVA, Psychedelic Furs etc.

Now I have a small piece of music, that drives me crazy not knowing what it is...:

It sounds like the singing of Killing Joke, but the guitars are not so full on, and there's a funky guitar, 'walking' along with the singers voice, that goes like:

I want one, he wants two, they want three (singer)
(then the group shouts) Let's turn to red (??)

Very hard to find out.
Singer sounds like Jaz Coleman of Killing Joke, but the music sounds almost a bit like The Higsons. Difficult to work out. It's either 1982 or 1983.
It's in my head, and I don't seem to find out what it is...
Somebody has a clue ?

It's very hard to work it out...and I'm looking it up on my old radiotape to try to discover some more details.

Sounds like you're describing Tones On Tail "There's Only One." The singer starts the verse and the band shouts the last line, but the lyrics are actually:

You want two,
He wants three,
They want four...
There's only one!

Wow, this is really miraculous to me. I'm searching for so long...give a less than half discription, and...YOU FOUND IT !!

It was indeed like you just said. I checked it !!
Thank you very much. Now I can look into this band.
You also know from what record/album this is ?

Just ordered 'Everything'.
Nice to find (out about) a 'new' band. I'll let you know what I think about the double cd.

May be I should try another 'searching-song' from one of the o'-timer cassettes. [;)]

YEAH.
Tomorrow I'll get 'my' Tones on Tail on my doorstep.
'Everything' was all I wanted from my radiotape...without ever knowing it before. Can't wait. I think I owe a bit of a review on that album/band.

Funny, that the song(s) I like so much were nowhere mentioned in any reviews in Alternative Rock or amazon.com... Can't wait to fill this nice gap of this so sparkling band/era !!

Just want to tell you my 'Everything' of Tone on Tail is in.

So far I prefer the 12"/singles cd. But certainly POP will have the subtility to enter my system during more listening to it. Nice and great music. Good varied efforts of this Bauhaus off springs !
