How Embarrassing!

Being new to the "NWO", I'm very impressed and happy to see so many people with such great taste and knowledge of 80's New Wave music. BUT, when discussing music, what Bands or specific songs of the eighties are you embarrassed to admit liking?

Well, I get a lot of shit from people for being a fan of Duran Duran. While some people in here may have great taste in music, they may also be a "closet" New Kids on the Block fan[xx(] It happens.

I got a bit of an embarrassing moment today when I was with a colleague in my car. She insisted on putting my iPod to full random play of my whole library. The first song that comes on? The original 12" of Donna Summers' "I Feel Love", LOL! She thought it was kinda cool of me though and unexpected. [^]

I don't have a lot of Duran Duran records. I picked up some 2nd hand singles. In Australia 'Girls on Film' was a smashing entry, and I played it a lot in those funny little juke boxes they have above coffetables overthere. Thar was fun.
I think that Ordinary World is a great song, aswell as Save a prayer is a good song. The Reflex, Hungry like the Wolf, Rio doesn't do it for me, but it was ok hearing them loud in Clubs ! They were along with the New Romantics and did make good popmusic, I think. (Can remember listening to their first album with a kind of admiration. They did more than could be expected from a chart-popband, which is ok !!)

I saw them at the House of Blues (Vegas)...possibly a year and a half ago? I was suprised at how great the show was. I've never seen so many "thirty-something" year old women acting like teenagers!

Heh. My friend saw them a while back and when she reported back to me, she said, "I've never seen so many Dockers-encased butts in my life."
