I'm picky about this band.I have always enjoyed their early material.(Real To Real Cacophony 1982) . This album/cd has some fantastic composition.Iwas not too fond of anything after 1983 from them but I will say the song "Promised You A Miracle" was pretty good.

I as well love Magazine ! I had no idea about the comment you made.I have listened to S.Minds early material for many years and I just dont see(or hear) the correlation.Not doubting your words by any means.

My absolute favourite songs by Simple Minds are "I Travel" and "Changeling". But I pretty much like everything they did.

Oh I too love the early Simple Minds lps ("I travel" and "Chelsea Girl" are terrific songs)but still think they were pretty interesting with "Up on the Catwalk", "Book of Brilliant Things" etc.

I only heard Mr. Devoto read out some of the lyrics in prose at The Bridgewater Hall gig, so I can't comment on the music, but generally anything with the Devoto stamp is approved by me.
