Wall Of Voodoo 12's

Postby newwavepopman » Sat Jan 14, 2006 7:02 pm

Does anyone happen to have any Wall Of Voodoo extended 12 inches that they can post on here, and if so thank you ahead of time? Songs with Stan or Andy Prieboy as lead singer it really doesn't matter to me,just as long as they are the extended mixes. Also, been looking for the 12 inch mix of Stan's "Calling Out To Carol" if anyone's got it.A million thanks.

I actually have a 12 inch single of "Mexican Radio", which has some minor variations but it's basically the same thing as the one we all know and have heard countless times. It only runs around 4:00.

The B side is a 10:00 long song called "There's Nothing on This Side"

The B side is actually 2 songs...."There's nothing on this Side" and an uncredited "Mexican Radio (Dub)".

"There's Nothing on this Side" is Stan and Marc calling up music executives late at night and saying, "There's Nothing on this Side". They got worried that they might get sued so they mixed out the executives comments.

"Mexican Radio (Dub)" is exactly that...not sure if it was Stan and Marc again or Mazda might have been responsible.

You can find some more cool facts at:

Well what do you know? Learn something new everyday. Thanks Max. I guess I was turned off by the first couple of minutes of "There's Nothing on This Side" way back when that I never listened to Side B ever again. I wonder how many more items in my collection are like that.

Kind of cool dub of "Mexican Radio" too.

The 12" of "Mexican Radio" is actually the single mix, which has some different vocalizations on the fade-out: Stan chants, "...OLIO...radio..." -- not audible on the album mix. This single mix is on the CD, "ON THE CHARTS: I.R.S. Records 1979-1994."

I don't have any 12" Versions but I do have a live version of Wall of VooDoo's 'Back In Flesh' from the 'URGH! A Music War' soundtrack.
