Any people on the board ever hang out at the old Krypton aka The Ivy aka The Haven nightclub in Banksville on the Westchester/CT border?

Spent too many Fridays and Saturdays there from like 89-94 listening to DJ Ralphie spin new wave/industrial/alt.

Good times, good times.[8D]

Damn, that's depressing. I wonder...we must have crossed paths. I was that guy in black clothes with the leather jacket and band t-shirts. LOL [:p]

What ever happened to DJ Ralphie, I wonder. He was a pretty good jock. I never heard of him spinning anywhere else after that place shut down.

I'm not positive but I think he may have briefly dj'd at a place called the terrace club in stamford, ct, which had a decent alt/new wave friday in like 94-95. later, I remember dj andre from WLIR took the spot. he always did a great job.

Cool. Thanks db. I never went to the Terrace, but I did hang in Stamford a couple of times...Art Bar, I think? That was later, though...95ish.

So many old WLIR/WDRE listeners on this board, but no one except us hung out there...? Hmmm.

yeah, art bar was pretty cool for a while there when it first opened. but like all stamford bars, it quickly went to way of the guido.

I'm sure there are some more local heads lurking in this forum somewhere.;)

My clubs of choice were The Ritz, Spize (the Elvis of dance clubs) in Farmingdale, Danceteria, and the Left Bank in Mount Vernon. When did Krypton/ Ivy start? Must have been after my college years, since I went to school not far from that area.

I think Krypton/Ivy (I think it started as Krypton and may have had one other name actually) opened roughly around 1988. At least that's when I first became aware of it.

Any folks on the board who used to frequent this place, or even if you just checked it out now and then, someone started a myspace page/group for alumni. [8D]

I used to DJ there in the 80s when it was called Confetti's [:D] Ralphie also DJ'd at a club in Westport called Backstage.

I also DJ'd at The Beat with Moby, The Terrace Club, The Garage, Backstage, The Velvet Room, Toads Place, The Grotto, The Moon and Danceteria. I was a club only DJ for WLIR at the smaller clubs in the area.

I currently have a Show on Saturday nights on Flashback Alternatives at 9 pm est. The current software for mac I am using does not allow me to beat mix like I would in a club and save it out as a file. Few out there that do, but will not allow you to save a file out.

That's cool DJ Wave. [:)] Check out that myspace page, cuz they're organizing a reunion that it looks like DJ Ralphie is signed on to in theory.
