Yoga is more for a mental workout--centering, calming, that sort of thing. If you do it often, it can help keep you toned---but hexicon is right: it's useful as [i]part[/i] of an excercise program, but not all by itself to keep you in shape.
mechi's comment about running after trains is pretty funny--and true! I have lots of vivid memories of running after trains in Europe; with a backpack on, I'm sure weight was lost.
I walk, bike, hike, garden, and walk the dogs a lot. Works for me.
