I think it's worth a viewing if for nothing more than it's account of an historical event central to one of the world's greatest religions. From an artistic point of view, this film took guts to produce: the blunt portrayal OF the Christ's passion in it's horifically drawn out physical abuse, in Jewish run Hollywood and IN a dead language. From a certain point of view, The Passion of the Christ was also about the passion of Gibson. He totally bank rolled it. This film challenged many Christians as well as non. There's nothing wrong with controversy. It inspires discussion and as such can both reaffirm and change points of view.
