Hey, I just found out that MarvyMarvModerator was making up some pretty elaborate fantasies about me on this web. If anyone cares, I'll be hapy to send a complete transcript of all off-list e-mail exchanges between myself and MarvyMarv. I'm not saying that it'll be interesting. I'm just happy to expose MarvyMarv as a liar. Can't imagine why he'd go through the trouble, though. Maybe he's just overly sensitive.

Boy, did I type that fast. Meant to say "thread" instead of "web," of course. Also, I should add that MarvyMarv certainly needs a moderator himself. He would have only had to send me an e-mail to learn that I post on NWO under this name, and no other.

But considering that salsynth and UnionAve both share an IP address,

False statement. I don't know who UnionAve is. I only posted because tiger_mn mentioned me. Did you not read what he wrote? He started for no reason. I was not even involved in the topic. Get your facts straight before you comment.
Do you see the drivel we have to contend with when every skirmish is allowed to go on unabated? Ever hear the saying, "stop feedng the trolls" so you don't feed their need for attention - at any cost? I have to think that this same reasoning that goes on just about all over the rest of the internet could work here. Should I post an IP address?

You can do what you want. You are wrong. Go after the people who instigate not me.

I really like where this thread is going. We've got MarvyMarv spreading lies and misinformation, all while posing as an impartial moderator. No wonder it was so easy for eight6 to get the Rick Nelson thread shut down once he was tired of embarrassing himself. I'm beginning to think eight6 is actually MarvyMarv's sock-puppet.

And since MarvyMarv is accusing people of stirring shit (to use his own colorful language), I'd like to know whatever got TigerMtn to think that I and another poster were the same person. At the time, I dismissed it as a typically incoherent Tiger moment. Now, it seems that Tiger must have been fed that lie by...well, perhaps a supposedly impartial moderator like MarvyMarv. I've heard from a lot of disillusioned NWO members who, unlike me, have an emotional attachment to this site. I can understand why they've given up faith in moderators helping to maintain NWO as a useful forum.

like i said before eight6,i never said rick nelson or his intakes album was new wave.
i just said it included 4 bonus tracks that were on his 10" "NU DISK" release which was part of cbs/epic records new wave campain at the time with....cheap trick, propaganda, new musik...
all those groups plus a few more were part of the new wave....NU DISK..releases....maybe you even have one????
<br>

it seems that theres certain people who just want to bash me on every post etc...(i could post something about depeche mode & they would still bash me)
Again...bullshit. I'd probably be the first to congratulate you for finally "getting it". But based on your post history and the "meticulous" care you take to ensure the post you're making is suitable to the mandate of the board, I just don't see me congratulating you anytime in the near (or distant) future.

so those members need to take their beef up with cbs records on what new wave is and not me.
So what are you saying...it's their fault you have no internal ability to tell that Rick Nelson wouldn't be considered New Wave by 99% of the members here?

Pretty weak.

Oh, no, yet another outbreak of the "Secret E-mail Of Support" virus...let me hide in my hole.

You looked like an idiot in the other thread, and continue to do so here. Keep going...I'm laughing my ass off at your attempts to stir shit.

You know, it's this kind of shit-stirring that makes almost makes me want to give up too. I don't know if it's worth shutting the board down to give some people the satisfaction of "mission accomplished". I know that I pay a handsome amount of $$ to keep this board (and the massive database behind it) running 24/7 without the old glitches of the past.

Maybe some of us are just suffering from burn-out. Moi? Yeah, you might say that. I know I personally can't keep tabs on the board nearly as frequently as I used to, and I can't realistically babysit this board which is why the mods are here to help. Obviously, a lot of people seem to have issues with Marv as a moderator. I hear both sides of the story and I'm always trying to sort this out. I will tell you that the mods and I are always in touch and we are always working to straighten things out.

I could do less with anyone who seem to make it their mission to belittle others on the board. Seeing the same old easy targets being lampooned over and over is downright tiresome. Again, it's as if it's being done for the sole enjoyment of their little clique (Hey, high five! Good one! Smug GG remarks soon to follow I'm sure), as if there aren't others reading through this shit and rolling their eyes. Seriously, how the sand has gotten into some people's panties these days! It's all about the inside jokes at the expense of others now isn't it. Ultimately, it's a childish ego thing, which as you can tell by my unrelenting presence on the board, I tend to eschew. I wish people could police themselves for the most part -- part of those laissez faire ideals I hold dear but when this stuff happens, I'm damned if I do, damned if I don't, really. Seems I don't do enough, which is fair to suggest but I simply don't have the time or resources. Life happens.

Anyway, this board has had a good run of over four years and along the way we've created a truly formidable repository of information on new wave music and related genres. Lots of intriguing and heated sociopolitical discussions along the way. But lately, it seems like it's not much about the music anymore even in the music forums. Personally, I'm really offended by how new members tend to be treated here now. God forbid a newcomer doesn't search the archives for a topic about the Laughing Dogs first. Seriously, whatever happened to civility? Save the ribbing for the longtime members who know you and can take it. If this post sounds like deju vu, well yeah, it does to me too.[|)] Carry on for now at least.

Let's see, eight6 (or MarvyMarv, or whoever you are): You can find people agreeing with me on the past thread in question. Meanwhile, you were reduced to making up imaginary posters who were just clamoring for someone to please shut down the Rick Nelson discussion. You've made it apparent that you didn't have any real reason to mock Georgie's posting about a New Wave-related CD. Why don't you just be honest and remind everyone that you don't like Georgie because he's a Christian? I celebrate the Jewish holidays. You can probably find a lot to make fun of over that, too.

Uh-huh...imaginary friends. Here's what I posted:

Now, before somebody else feels the need to ask for this shit to be taken off line, get your last post in (complete with another searing shot) and show some board respect and send me an e-mail.

The only thing imaginary here is your sense of self import.

For the record...religion, any and all is a joke IMO. No need for it, no use for it.

Make up more stuff...

Whoa, there are too many pre-conceived notions about everyone flying around right now. Please email each other offline and work things out. This is ridiculous.

I guess my previous post was worthless effort then? Unbelievable.[V]
