<br>It's funny rewind, but I'm sitting here thinking that "Shadowplay" sucks more and more every time I listen to it. I'm not trying to combative...just noting how funny tastes are. In fact, hearing their "Shadowplay" makes me kinda depressed about the whole Joy Division revival thing as a whole. This will sound petty, but it used to actually feel special pulling out my original FAC 10 Unknown Pleasures and soaking in songs that felt extremely personal. All this attention somehow makes it seem not so special anymore. I know that's weird. [B)]

Not so weird. I think that happens with most people. I know that once my little secret favorite band gets "commercial", some of the appeal is lost.
As an example, I think the same thing happens to those people who won't allow themselves to like U2 as much as they used to, even thought the music is just as good.
I still find The Killer's cover quite listenable. Now if top 40 radio and MTV took it to the masses and housewives in supermarkets across America were humming along to it, I'd probably lose some interest. Familiarity breeds contempt.
