When did you 1st discover Kraftwerk?

To be honest, it was late in the game for me - - with the release of Electric Cafe in '86. I had read about them for years, but never had gone ahead and bought anything. I wasn't going to hear them on the radio, that's for sure.

Soon an obsession started - - in the next couple years I had all their releases. I was totally obsessed with the idea of these four sophisticated German guys creating this amazing electronic music. Spent one night on the phone with a German operator trying to obtain the number to Kling Klang studios in Dusseldorf.

My favorite release? Hard to say...maybe Computer World or Trans Europe Express. Love the Man Machine as well. It's a toss-up.

Please tell me I'm not the only one.....

I discovered Kraftwerk back in 1976 when my cousin gave me their album, Autobahn. Definitely was different than anything I was into back at that time.

It was 1982 for me. I had just started high school and was in a Junior Achievement program. This girl there told me about them and lent me her 45 of "Numbers." I was hooked instantly! It's hard for me to pick a favorite because I love everything by them.

Same for me with Pocket calculator. Heard it in a Mix during WBMX glory days and I was hooked. Anyone ever notice you never see them sing in their videos. The only time I even remotely saw them sing was their shadow in "The Telephone Call" video.
