I did my first half-marathon recently (walked the first 11, ran the last two) and am now training to run a marathon (or run/walk depending on how the training goes). Recently, I picked up the Nike+ IPod Nano system and I'm getting addicted to it. You put a sensor in your shoe, which communicates with a receiver on your iPod, and you get realtime data as you run or walk. Then when you plug your iPod in to your computer, all the data gets uploaded to a website, where you can track it, share w/others, set goals, join challenges, etc.
Is there anyone else on the board using this?
