Video Name That Tune Game - v2 Results!

Postby Frau_Blucher » Sat Jan 07, 2006 11:01 am

Okay, I think I learned a couple of things from the first Video Name That Tune...here's the new and improved Version 2 with 30 classic New Wave video clips with audio this time. Maybe a few obscurities but still plenty easy I hope and more fun.

There are 2 seconds of black between each clip in the linked video below. Apologies for some video compression artifacts - the tradeoff to keep the size to my max 25meg share limit. Any Quicktime-loaded computer should be able to play it. Just guess the Title and Artist. The game is on a 100 point basis - 1 point for each Artist, 2 points for each Title, AND 5 points each for the 31st bonus artist and song. The highest scoring guesser of the bonus track will get a pair of data DVD's full of classic video mpegs. Hint: if you know my rantings, the bonus won't be too too hard. ;-)

Download the response form below and email it to me after you're done (email is in the form). Make sure to include your forum name so I know who you are. I'll immediately send back the Score and Answer Sheet. Please remember NOT to post your responses here!

Here's the link for the response form, right-click to download:
The Video NTT 2 Blank Form

Here's the clip link, right-click (control-click Mac) to download, it WON'T play in-line:
The Video NTT 2 Sampler

The game will end on Friday January 20th at 9PM EDT.

PS. I will email a yousendit link to a few choice videos to each person that plays, and take requests as well.

You definitely upped the ante Blir.

So far, I'm 22 for 31 on the first run through. [:I]

I did better on this one than the first, but actually thought the first was easier and my score would have reflected had I not flubbed a few "gimmes"...

But I'm definitely digging this twist on the game

GAME UPDATE

The game average sits at 65pts - a bit harder than the first, but still plenty easy through the first 2/3s of the songs. Hope you get a chance to play. Remember that you'll get both the answers and a link to a few of the videos when you submit your answers.

Remember that the game ends Friday January 20th at 9PM EDT and please do NOT post your answers here.

Er, you just offended the two scores lower than yours. [:D]

There's always a huge range on these games. It's not really about what you know but rather what happens to end up in the particular mix.

GAME UPDATE

The average has now fallen to 60pts with a broad spectrum of scores. Even though it's proven to be harder than the first Video NTT, people are still nearly acing the first 2/3 then hitting the skids a bit on the last 1/3. Hopefully this means two things - 1) a majority is hopefully still fun a easy and 2) if you happen to know some of that last 1/3, you should rock at this. Remember that you'll get both the answers and a link to a few of the videos when you submit your answers. Also remember the bonus contest: highest scoring guesser of the bonus track will get a pair of data DVD's full of classic video mpegs.

The game ends Friday January 20th at 9PM EDT and please do NOT post your answers here. Why not give it a shot this weekend, especially if your weather is anything the northeast US where it's gonna be a crappy mix of rain, ice and snow.

My media player can't open up m4a files. I've looked for updates but have been unsuccessful. Any tips for us non-Mac users?[?]

I guess I did alright -- a B- I think -- but compared to the last one, I tripped and fell in the cake. Speaking of which, I should probably apologize to everyone here. After Blir saw I aced the first video one, I was essentially told, "Oh, well, I'm gonna have to make the next one a LOT harder! If YOU got a perfect score, I made it WAY too easy!!"
